ah, the candidates

In my opinion John McCain is just following in the footsteps of President Bush. His big plan for Iraq is to stay until Iraq is capable of governing themselves. We've been waiting for the same thing since we entered the war. He's just going to keep us there and lose more soldiers and get more in debt. He also plans on reforming health insurance by creating greater competition which leads to better prices for the family. McCain wants to make health insurances affordable for everyone. He's a big advocate of helping out people returning from war and veterans who fought in past wars. To help out families that have a loved one overseas they get a special tax relief to make things easier on them.
I believe that Obama is the better candidate in this election. His first act as Commander-in-chief he wants to end the war. He doesn't believe we need to keep fighting in Iraq because the war has no end. Obama's health plan will include a guaranteed eligibility plan. No body will be turned away no matter their past diseases or illness. For the people that already have health insurance their premium will go down. Barack is working on make sure that no veteran ever falls into homelessness. He also wants to hire more mental health care providers to help at every stage of military service.

Hurricanes

Being a victim of one of the recent hurricanes would be terrible. The biggest reason would be losing just about everything I own. I can't imagine the feeling of having a house one second, and the next it's gone. This has to be the worst feeling because you work hard to maintain that house and keep a roof over you families head and it's just destroyed.
This keeps happening in the South so I would move out of the South. I wouldn't want to deal with this every year. I'd hate having to stay somewhere while my house is rebuilt and then move back in and it possibly being ruined again. You can't really stop a hurricane from causing damage so the best way to avoid it would be moving out of these areas that get frequent hurricanes.
The people in the South have been hit with a few hurricanes. I'm glad that none have taken even close as many lives that were taken because of Hurricane Katrina. I feel terrible for these families for losing loved ones. Many of these families still remain in New Orleans. Now their lives are being endangered by hurricanes.

Why Homecoming week is special

Homecoming is always a special week. Homecoming is all about pep rallies, people dressing up funny for spirit days, and the Football game on Friday. These things make this week more exciting than any other week in the year.
This year is more special in many ways. The biggest way is that It's my senior year and it's the last Homecoming I will be part of. This year we have to win float building and the spirit award just for the fact that it's our last year doing this. This week could get the Football team going on the right track with a big win over Calumet.
My favorite part of Homecoming is the pep rally. All of the afternoon classes are shortened and we go into the gym. First the principal talks and introduces all the sports teams. After that the Varsity Football team is out there and the Coach gets the crowd into it. Then we have different games each year and then we leave. After the pep rally everyone is ready for the game and we all have to wait for the kickoff.

The Weekend

This weekend started out on Friday when I had Derrick and Alan stay over at my house. We basically chilled around my house for the night. Later that night we all walked to the Holiday to get some energy drinks.
On Saturday after we got up and got ready we went to Marquette. We took Kate, Ashley, and Ashley with us there. First we went to Gamestop so I could put money down on Rock Band 2 which comes out in 6 days. After that we went and walked around the mall for a while and checked out the new Halloween store. In the mall we met a few people we knew. I saw Shawn Corcoran and Zach Carlson from Westwood there. Shawn was checking out the BK King costume they had. Once we left the mall we went to Taco Bell and ate. I wasn't feeling good before we went there and after eating that it just made it worse.
The last thing we did in Marquette was go to Lower Harbor. When we got there we saw a ton of people because someone had their wedding up there. Many people drove around the circle honking their horns for the newly married couple. We walked along the break wall and talked about what movie we wanted to see that night. The girls didn't want to choose so we decided on College.
College was a pretty funny movie. I didnt think that I would like it at first because the main character was played by the guy from Drake and Josh. I never really liked him but he did good in this movie. The movie is about a couple of seniors in high schools going away for a weekend to a college and staying in a Frat House. They were basically pledges all weekend and the Frat guys took advantage of them. In the end the seniors get back at them and get them in a lot of trouble.
Yesterday I really didn't do too much. I got up and got ready because I had to work at 1. I worked from 1 to 8. It was a pretty long day and it seemed to take forever. I was somewhat happy because on my break I caught the end of the Jets vs Dolphins game.

If I was President

If I was the President things would be run a little differently. The first thing I would do is get all the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Next I'd try to stimulate the economy by taking less taxes and letting people have more money to spend in our economy. I'd try to listen to the everyday person more. I would want to be liked way more than President Bush is. He's made a few mistakes during his tenure as the President.

To the white house itself I'd add a Basketball hoop and a Tennis Court. I would also add a Golf driving range. I'd add an entertainment room into the White House. In the room I'd have big screen TV's, video games, pool tables.
