Bill and Bob

I believe that Bill is wealthier because he has his family behind him and he has time to be with them. Bob on the other hand sees his kids only a few times a year. He has a lot of money and friends that like him because of his wealth but the minute this wealth runs out they won't be in his life. Bill might have to work harder for less money but he always gets everything he needs and has a happy family. If I had a choice I would rather be Bill for the fact he has more meaningful friends and a good family.

Poor

There can be many factors in some people being poor. In my personal opinion the biggest reason for poverty is your surroundings and situation. Many times people are unable to make ends meet so they have to work deadend jobs with little possibilities of advancement. These people can't afford college to increase their education and chance of getting a higher end job. Many can't do this option unless they're smart enough to get full paid scholarships or athletic scholarships. This is very far and few between as thousands are competing for the same opportunity.
Many other people in my opinion are poor because they have no work ethic and never learned the meaning of work from anyone or any situation. Many just sit around and hope something great will happen to them and people owe them. This isn't the case as it's your life and you have to do the work to get towards your goals. They just don't happen overnight by luck. These type of people I don't feel bad for in the least because they believe "the man" is against them and wants them to stay down.
On a side note to that it's those people that are lazy that seem to get all the help and take money from hard working people. They work many hours a week to get a decent percentage taken away and given to some lazy person that makes up an excuse to screw the system and gain money the lazy way. We need to stop having so many programs to help people because there are many scam artists out there that get away with scamming this money.

Government Bailout

The main reason behind this whole bailout is to make it seem like the government to protect modest savings portfolios. They don't want to face voters not having done anything to try and solve the problem. This is just a way for President Bush trying to pull something out of nothing and make it so some people don't hate him. He's ruined many good things in the past 8 years that we have worked for. Now he's spending more money and all of this will come out of the taxpayer's wallet.
In my opinion this makes things even worse for when Obama takes over for President Bush. Many responsible middle class workers will end up paying more for people that are reckless. They are supposed to find ways of helping middle class americans of not foreclosing because in this bailout they aren't getting a thing out of it. This problem will linger into Obama's presidency. Hopefully he has a solution to all of this because Bush really messed things up for all of us. President Bush has just thrown around money his whole time in office and he will continue to do this until hios last day in office it appears.

2008 Election

This year's election was a major one for this country. President Bush led us into a hole and whoever takes over has to try and fix what he messed up. Going to Phelps with my family I watch as people from all ages are there to vote and voice their opinion. I knew who was going to win Michigan so it wasn't much of a suprise when Obama won. I stayed up and turned back and forth to see the results. When they finally announced that he had won and McCain had conceded I couldn't believe it. I know he can be the change our country very desperately needs. Watching on TV at the sight of Chicago and all of them there to support Obama was quite a sight.

Medical Marijuana was up for vote this year on Proposition one and was in my opinion suprisingly passed. I voted for it but I was certain that many people would oppose this and not even consider it. If marijuana can help someone that is very sick then I think they deserve the chance to get better. This proposition can possibly help many sick people to cope with their pain.

Proposition two this year was a vote on the legalization of Stem Cell research for Michigan. I personally don't believe in this and I voted against it. I don't think we should be using embryo's this way. In my opinion this will lead to more people getting abortions because they won't only be helping themselves but in their minds make them believe they are helping someone else. This gives them a false belief and I don't believe it is right.

Negative Campaigning

Everytime I turn on my TV now all I see is one President cutting down the other one. This is no different because every presidential election seems to be like this. It's either a debate on every channel or a new commercial like every day.
Obama's commercials deal with McCain supporting to send jobs overseas and how he will raise taxes. Some of them deal with the fact that Palin isn't very experienced and isn't a good candidate for Vice President. I was wondering about that myself she doesn't seem like a very good candidate. I personally think he chose her because she is somewhat attractive and will distract away from some of the issues facing him.
Obama luckily doesn't face any of these problems. He chose a good running mate in Biden. He has more experience than Palin and worked in a bigger setting than Alaska. The main commercials about Obama are that he flip flops on many of the issues.

My Weekend

This weekend started out by school finally ending on Friday. After that I just laid around until I had to go to work @ 4. The four hours went by slow as I was anxious for the casino that night. Jenn(My Manager) was purposely making me stay late because she knew I wanted to leave. Finally she let me go and I got a hold of everyone and we left. First we went to Applebees to eat and I made the waitress pretty angry. For one she messed up and gave me hot wings instead of BBQ. After that everyone made me give her the 3 gift cards we were paying with. Then on top of all that they told her it was my b-day so she had to get them all together to come sing to me. So after that fiasco we left to the casino and we couldn't get there fast enough. When we got there I looked inside once I got in and signed in at the desk. Within 10 minutes of being there I hit my first jackpot on the billionaire slot machine. I won 2 out of the 3 mini games on it and ended up winning 10 dollars on that one. After I consistently lost money and won a few small ones here and there. I ended up cashing out down $3 but it was worth it. Nick lost all $20 and Champs and A-Mak both lost $5. Jake and Ryan both left positive.

Saturday I went to the mixed doubles tournament. My partner was Mollie Anderson. We played Mr.Langness and his son first. We tied with them @ 2-2. The next match we faced Nick and Larissa and we beat them 3-1. After that we faced Kaylin and Dave and tied them also. The next match we had was against Ethan and Jackie. This one was fun as me and Ethan were partners last season in Tennis and Jackie and Mollie were partners this year and last year. They ended up beating us 3-1. Next we faced Garceau and Rachel and tied them. The last match we played was against Katie Johns and Vince Gravedoni and we beat them 3-1. After all this I worked from 3-8.

Yesterday was the first weekend day I've had off in like a month. It was nice I sat around and watched Football w/ Derrick. Then we went to Marquette and Alan came and we went to Hong Kong. It was good and then we all went home and chilled around. Me and Champs went to Gunners house to talk to him about Derricks tattoo and we sat there and talked with him for about an hour. After we left Ashley called me and came to my house with Michelle and they sat around with me for a while. Then I brought Michelle home and went and chilled with Ahsley for a lil bit. She was tired from babysitting and me from the casino and work so I went home and went to bed.

To be or not to be

To be rich at the end of the night or not to be broke. To be tired or not to be energized. To be happy or not to be sad. To be having fun with this or not to be really understanding why I'm doing this. To be confused or not to be understanding. To be a Packer fan or not to be a Lions fan. To be bored or not to be enthusiastic. To be done with this or not to be doing this at all. To be playing tennis or not to be sitting around my house. To be listening to music or not to be sitting in complete silence. To be in Advanced Physical Education or not to be in a Science class. To be winning money tonight at the casino or not to be leaving with anything in my wallet. To be going to Applebee's tonight or not to be eating at all. To be going to the casino tonight with friends or not to be going to the dance.

ah, the candidates

In my opinion John McCain is just following in the footsteps of President Bush. His big plan for Iraq is to stay until Iraq is capable of governing themselves. We've been waiting for the same thing since we entered the war. He's just going to keep us there and lose more soldiers and get more in debt. He also plans on reforming health insurance by creating greater competition which leads to better prices for the family. McCain wants to make health insurances affordable for everyone. He's a big advocate of helping out people returning from war and veterans who fought in past wars. To help out families that have a loved one overseas they get a special tax relief to make things easier on them.
I believe that Obama is the better candidate in this election. His first act as Commander-in-chief he wants to end the war. He doesn't believe we need to keep fighting in Iraq because the war has no end. Obama's health plan will include a guaranteed eligibility plan. No body will be turned away no matter their past diseases or illness. For the people that already have health insurance their premium will go down. Barack is working on make sure that no veteran ever falls into homelessness. He also wants to hire more mental health care providers to help at every stage of military service.

Hurricanes

Being a victim of one of the recent hurricanes would be terrible. The biggest reason would be losing just about everything I own. I can't imagine the feeling of having a house one second, and the next it's gone. This has to be the worst feeling because you work hard to maintain that house and keep a roof over you families head and it's just destroyed.
This keeps happening in the South so I would move out of the South. I wouldn't want to deal with this every year. I'd hate having to stay somewhere while my house is rebuilt and then move back in and it possibly being ruined again. You can't really stop a hurricane from causing damage so the best way to avoid it would be moving out of these areas that get frequent hurricanes.
The people in the South have been hit with a few hurricanes. I'm glad that none have taken even close as many lives that were taken because of Hurricane Katrina. I feel terrible for these families for losing loved ones. Many of these families still remain in New Orleans. Now their lives are being endangered by hurricanes.

Why Homecoming week is special

Homecoming is always a special week. Homecoming is all about pep rallies, people dressing up funny for spirit days, and the Football game on Friday. These things make this week more exciting than any other week in the year.
This year is more special in many ways. The biggest way is that It's my senior year and it's the last Homecoming I will be part of. This year we have to win float building and the spirit award just for the fact that it's our last year doing this. This week could get the Football team going on the right track with a big win over Calumet.
My favorite part of Homecoming is the pep rally. All of the afternoon classes are shortened and we go into the gym. First the principal talks and introduces all the sports teams. After that the Varsity Football team is out there and the Coach gets the crowd into it. Then we have different games each year and then we leave. After the pep rally everyone is ready for the game and we all have to wait for the kickoff.

The Weekend

This weekend started out on Friday when I had Derrick and Alan stay over at my house. We basically chilled around my house for the night. Later that night we all walked to the Holiday to get some energy drinks.
On Saturday after we got up and got ready we went to Marquette. We took Kate, Ashley, and Ashley with us there. First we went to Gamestop so I could put money down on Rock Band 2 which comes out in 6 days. After that we went and walked around the mall for a while and checked out the new Halloween store. In the mall we met a few people we knew. I saw Shawn Corcoran and Zach Carlson from Westwood there. Shawn was checking out the BK King costume they had. Once we left the mall we went to Taco Bell and ate. I wasn't feeling good before we went there and after eating that it just made it worse.
The last thing we did in Marquette was go to Lower Harbor. When we got there we saw a ton of people because someone had their wedding up there. Many people drove around the circle honking their horns for the newly married couple. We walked along the break wall and talked about what movie we wanted to see that night. The girls didn't want to choose so we decided on College.
College was a pretty funny movie. I didnt think that I would like it at first because the main character was played by the guy from Drake and Josh. I never really liked him but he did good in this movie. The movie is about a couple of seniors in high schools going away for a weekend to a college and staying in a Frat House. They were basically pledges all weekend and the Frat guys took advantage of them. In the end the seniors get back at them and get them in a lot of trouble.
Yesterday I really didn't do too much. I got up and got ready because I had to work at 1. I worked from 1 to 8. It was a pretty long day and it seemed to take forever. I was somewhat happy because on my break I caught the end of the Jets vs Dolphins game.

If I was President

If I was the President things would be run a little differently. The first thing I would do is get all the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Next I'd try to stimulate the economy by taking less taxes and letting people have more money to spend in our economy. I'd try to listen to the everyday person more. I would want to be liked way more than President Bush is. He's made a few mistakes during his tenure as the President.

To the white house itself I'd add a Basketball hoop and a Tennis Court. I would also add a Golf driving range. I'd add an entertainment room into the White House. In the room I'd have big screen TV's, video games, pool tables.
